Nemo Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 You may not like waiting for the Tinker to finish, but you'll end up with more points than folding Gromacs. Be patient- it will finish. I once had a large Gromacs take 10 days to finish on a machine folding 24/7 with absolutely no other usage on the machine. Kamikaze_Badger Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 I don't mind Tinkers, but they take forever to finish, and I'm the only one in the house(older brother lives in the trailer house) that knows how to . fix a computer without rebooting it. Plus, there was a sudden poweroutage this morning... so I lost all current work .
road-runner Posted October 3, 2004 Posted October 3, 2004 (edited) Seems like a lot of these new WUs take for ever to finish, no wonder they raised the points on them a while back, I think I can do Tinkers faster than some of those Gromacs they have now! Nemo Posted October 3, 2004 Posted October 3, 2004 Fortunately, I have been getting a fair number of Tinkers lately. On my AMDs, they are worth almost twice the ppw as the Gromacs - 1340ppw vs, 677ppw. I'd just as soon have Tinkers on all my machines. Nemo Posted October 3, 2004 Posted October 3, 2004 Heaven is right. I only see those every once in a while and of cource then only on my P4 since the AMDs I have are not SSE2 capable.
