littleaznkid Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 Some how now i regret getting intel.... Intel kinda sucks now. I used to love intel and everything but i think is a waste of money. The only reason i got intel is becuase of it HT technology(2 CPU) i thought hey that very cool. But now. I compared it to my bros computer. Which is NF7-S with a 2100 with a volcano 9. with 256 ram. I mean wow! Far away from my computer. But my computer is slow on startup slow at shut down. His comp just turns off like THAT. Please dont get this to intel vs AMD. If you wanna do tha go to the pinned =] Dont wanna get warned again =p

TimeMachine Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 Intel is fine for me , only thing is the temps and vcore.
Ziggy54354 Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 i can understand saying amd is better than intel... cause it is , but a 2100+ out performing a 2.4c? Thats kinda unreasonable. Your cpu should be much faster than the 2100+. I think you just have a bunch of stuff running in the back or you need to defrag. Vampire Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 Reformat both computers and see which one is faster for games etc. Then you wont regret buying an intel
Iggy Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 I'd guess he means that Intel chips are waaay too sensitive to vcore compared to the Socket A Athlons, which will only fry above 2v given that the cooling is good, and also that the newest Intel chips generate a ton of heat (as much as my 1700+ w/ a 1 GHz o/c on it ). FaNta84 Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 run ad-aware and spybot, that will probably clear some things up. also try defragmenting, there is no way in heck a 2100+ will beat a 2.4c
Coolzero101 Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 Performance can be hampered majorly when you have spyware, undefraged Hd's, an odd setup with incorrect variable in bios, a pirate OS, or just to make programs running. If you have norton on your pc with autoprotect that will slow you down.
littleaznkid Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 I know. Thats what i thought too. I htink is time to format and defrag... Yea. Hmmm... His computer is running at least 22-25 processes. And mine is running 27-30. The only thing that is killing me is the Real Player (realsched.exe and some Norton stuff and some other stuff...) arrgghh... Imma over clock .1 ghz =] and overclcok my Video card. Hmmm.... yea... lol. I need more RAM! lol i nned 512 more. A gig is good enough for me. Log on 2 users and other stuff. wanna donate me one or sell 1 for cheap =p O well. Ill take your advice and format..
epikz Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 i used to have a pentium 4, it was 2.66ghz o/ced to 3.2 it was pretty darn fast, but i decided to go with amd. amd 64 3000+ @ 2.2, and it owns the p4 by far(even stock speeds). i totally regret buying intel also. Wayway Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 I love my amd it will beat any p4 around its speed and @ oc'd speeds it will give good competition, hopefully Friday I will have my Amd 64 bit W/ MSI K8N Neo Platinum Mobo . For $309 But can only get the 64 bit 3000 but stock its @ 2.0 maybe a good oc' will pull 2.5 and i'll be happy
