Hailstorm Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 I started OCing with a 2.7 celeron. I took it up to 3.5. If you plan to do this for long term use. Get a better heatsink. Don't take the voltage up much. You shouldn't need to . Whats going to hold you back is your RAM most likey. Now, the performance gain is there. But your starting from a low position. I more than doubled my scores when I went to my 2.4MO P4. But have fun with what you have.YOu can always keep an eye out for a better chip for yourself. computergee Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 Try reseting the CMOS jumper. I have a 2.4 cleron too, I usally have it stable at 2.8, I gotta get me a better mobo. What motherboard do you have?
galla2k4eva Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 (edited) Ive tried resetting the cmos but nothing is working. I think i killed the processor with static even though i was earthed. I have a MS-335E or something like that, its made by MSI. Im at school now gotta go. [edit]Now at home on a laptop with jerky mouse my Mobo is a MS-6533E, made by MSI. The comp is being taken down to Milton Keynes (the home of my computer) to get repaired or replaced. I was told by the support to hold the on button for 20sec while the comp is switched off and it should reset it, does this have the same results as altering the jumpers?
