4 Pin Resistor(resister)?

Hey there! I was wondering if any of you guys have bought or have seen or how to make one... Because my hardrive cooler (like those 2 40mm ones...) is way too loud. thats the only one making my computer loud. I was wondering if any way to lower it or something. thanks! its like 40 dba... or something. maybe 35. im reaching my goal of 28 or so dba cuz no occ. :P

I don t think you can lower the fan speed on those kind of coolers I think they are just 1 speed. Hard drive coolers are loud mine makes a winning sound I got use to it after a while. You would problay have to get a new one that makes less nose.

Yeah, just get a VR from Radioshack and hook it up the red(?) wire. Or at least I think it's red. You don't need to increase the resistence on all the lines, just the one carrying the power.

uh worker you can.

 

If you lower the volltage to a certain item, it will decrease preformance... in the case of a fan, it will slow down.

 

slowing down= less RPM which would equal to quieter
