Well, being the type of person I am, I decided to challenge the majority and I bought 4 new laptops for testing.

HP 3.2Ghz P4 and Nvidia Go5700 w/128mb

Toshiba 3.2Ghz P4 and Nvidia Go5700 w/64mb

Sony 3.2Ghz P4 and Ati 9700 w/64mb

Emachines Athlon 64 3400 and Ati 9600 w/64mb

Benchmarking them now...at this point...the HP is neck and neck with the Emachines, and the other two are getting HORRIBLE results in Aquamark 3. You must keep in mind that the OEM notebook vendors had the discretion to "underclock" the graphics units at their beck and call and I'm doing some testing on all four machines to see exactly what's going on inside these lappys.

:withstupid: Thank you captain obvious

well it seemed from your post you weren't aware of that, unless you really believe the go5700 is a budget chipset, in which case, you're either blatantly biased towards ati, or don't know jack shiz.

nvidia wins this battle.
