computergee Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Nice, I was thinking about doing something like that. Just scared I would screw up and waste money. Where did u get that fan controller? Did you make it? How?
DECwakeboarder Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Very sexy R...I wish I had the time to get a new case and mod it, if I would have known I would get so wrapped up in all of this crap then I would have bought a more "moddable" case
r_target Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 The fan controller is the one that comes with the Spark 7+. I just mounted two rheostats to control some more fans and gave it the spray paint treatment. I need to replace the Tt rheostat with one like the others so I can have all three knobs the same. The knobs are from a 1970's SUNN Concert Lead guitar amplifier.

r_target Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Yeah it is. I didn't have much experience with laquer spray paint. I always just used cheapie enamels (which I did use for the interior of this case). Plus with the metal flake you have to get all the gloss from working the clear coat because sanding the metal flake paint will ruin the effect. So lots of recoating, sanding, rubbing, buffing, waxing.... I had lots of weird "not quite dry although it looks and feels dry" mistakes too.
