ShyGuy91284 Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 I recently upgraded my panaflo fan to a tornado. The odd thing is, it's running hotter now then it used to according to the sensors. (I use Linux w/ lm_sensors, and the asb_100 sensor and the w831785ts sensor). And also the BIOS temp is hotter (45+ on startup, somtimes more, but staying steady around ~55 seems kinda odd....) The two sensors are varying a lot in their temps now (As I recall, one is on an Athlon-XP cpu itself, correct?). They used to be maybe around 4 degrees C different in their temp readings. But now, they are closer to 20 degrees C off from eachother. Anyone have any ideas as to what's going on? And yes, they are the same sensors I was reading before I'll probably clean/reseat the heatsink once I get a screwdriver to pry it off with (SLK's can suck that way.....). worker Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 Use a temp probe to see if the heat sink is telling the right temp.
ShyGuy91284 Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 That's the plan once I get ahold of a screwdriver (I don't feel like leaving the campus to get one, and my roomate should come back with one in a few days). So I can put it next to the die. Cleaning and re-applying the AS3 is just an extra I figure I'll do while I've got it off, just in case that is the prob.
