ShadowPaktu Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 140 mph in a beaten down Ford Escort 1.3 petrol, saloon. On a trip in england to wales, level ground on the motorway with one heck of a strong prevailing wind. Apart from the wind, sliptreaming a BMW in front helped abit

road-runner Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 124 mph in a 1/4 mile in my 68 camaro with a 400 small block, 13:1 compression, roller motor back in 1980, I had my 98 Z71 up to 126 according to GPS on the way to the deer lease and it was just getting ready to change into 4th gear, it was getting a little scary and all my all my stuff in the back was trying to start blowing out I let up the truck was kinda drifting around on the road, I had a 4 wheeler in the back also, I have an after market (jet) tire size calibration box that does away with the speed govener it hooks up to the transmission. On water 98mph without nitrous, with nitrous we were right at 110 mph 510 big block chevy with everything you can imagine done to it, it was one of my friends jet boats, he then went to alcohol injected and I think he got 116 out of it before he sold it. I had a few friends that made most all of the Southern drag boat association races circuit about 5 years ago
