DcMaN Posted September 19, 2004 Posted September 19, 2004 I just want to know if i should leave my cpu the way it is overclocked now ? Maybe i did something wrong? Right now its stable as hell Ive tested it at full load and idle. THe idle temp is 93 / f and the full load is 131 /f. As of now my cpu has been up for 1 week with out crashing on windows xp pro. Any suggestions or Tips that you have would be great. Thanks. Ill give a link for the results below that CPUZ gave me. Pictures. battery Posted September 19, 2004 Posted September 19, 2004 i'd suggest telling us your system specs...and i'd definitely get some better cooling...
oralpain Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 Those temps don't seem at all bad to me. Looks like a pritty good overclock so far. I don't have alot of experience with P4s, but you may beable to get a bit more out of that setup. Just up the FSB 5MHz or 10MHz and do some serious stability testing. Keep an eye on the temps as well.
r_target Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 Those temps are a little on the high side, but I've seen worse. Looks like a pretty good OC for a 2.6, but you might want to tame that heat a little before you really push the limits.
GmAz Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 idle is liek 35C load is like 55C or so. not bad
DcMaN Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 whats funny is these are the same temps that i had when my cpu wasnt over clocked anyway my stats are Msi Neo2-FIS2R P4 2.6c @3.25 w/hyperthreading Geil Ultra Series Value Dual Channel 184 Pin 512MB(256MBx2) DDR PC-3200 w/ Blue Heatspreader 2 Seagate SATA 160 GB RAID 0 2- 60 GB WD Hardrives Pioneer A05 DVD/RW Samsung 240b CDRW
Nuclear Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 What is your vcore? Your temps will only rise when you raise the vcore, so if it was left at stock, the temps shouldn't get any higher. That is a pretty good OC, what are your full system specs? Motherboard, RAM, PSU, etc...
oralpain Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 Temps can rise from simply raising the clock speed, the chip will draw slightly more current, but voltages are much more of a factor. Just do some experimenting. Overclock it a bit more and if it's stable its stable.
