Paranoid Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 (edited) I loved this board when I had it. I just ordered it's big brother, the K8N Neo2 Platinum MSI K8N Neo Platinum I've only heard bad things about Asus Athlon 64 boards. shmitty Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 Yes yes nice, but does it only support single memory when OC'ing, which i think thats what it is, but even if it does, does that make a huge impact where I wouldnt want it or go with a board that supports dual channel. bigred Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 I'm with paranoid here. avoid the asus athlon 64 boards... it's just one problem after another with them I've got both the 939 version of the MSI and DFI (the DFI is back off the market with more bugs to be worked out). both boards are good and solid, and oc very well. I've got a 754 version of the MSI and DFI at the store, and both have been very good boards with the latest bios (unlike asus they're fixing problems not making them worse)

Paranoid Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 Id go withte neo2 platinums. The Neo2 is for Socket 939. He has a Socket 754 chip, so that wouldn't do him any good.
oralpain Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 (edited) Get a chaintech VNF3-250, they are cheap and good overclockers. Reliabity seems pritty good too. I sold mine, but its still doing very well with its new owner. Also, the 3000+s tend to OC noticeably better than the 2800+, still alot of C0 2800+ floating around and the 9 multiplier is a bit on the low side though it is useable. This AK89 MAX I'm using shouldn't be a good overcloker, but it is. Edited September 18, 2004 by oralpain
Ruisu Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 I read that the ZNF3-250 doesn't have a multiplyer setting... that's bad right?
