p8baller07 Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 Well... If i dont get a 1999 Camaro Z28, it will be a new Dodge SRT-4 or a Subaru WRX Anyway... drop the tips for buying used cars... Because if i got a camaro it will have to be used... As they don't make them anymore... Also of the two stated before...which would you pick? Not into trucks(I am not white ) so... lol.. I dont have a problem with them, just i rather speed more than off-roadage... Anyway thanks in advance
Shaggy Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 (edited) I'd go with the z28. It comes with an Ls1 right? Yeah it does. Everyone and their mom's aunt's sister has a WRX. SR-Ts are cool too. Really fast, but probably a lot more expensive then a z28. I love V8s personally. If you modify an LS1 it has a lot of potential. were talking an extra 40hp for new headers alone and 25+hp for an intake. Show those ricers what real power is!!! oh yeah, and if you get the camaro make sure to get a loud mouth exhaust so the entire world can hear your car and know its true power! Make sure you can get a test drive. If they ask you for a deposit before you can drive it, there's probably something wrong with it. And take it through the gears (it's a Camaro, it won't mind ). Check to see if the paint outside matches the inside of the trunk and engine bay. Also, asking for maintenance/service records isn't a bad idea
confuzzedintelguy Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 also look in the door jam for a state trooper sticker it means it was totaled at one time and rebuilt
crash Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 Don't go to a small "Used car emporium" Stick with large dealerships that offer Dealer brand warranty ie. Factory certified warranty. I've sold cars at both types of dealerships and I wouldn't buy from anything but Ford/Chrysler/Chev dealerships now. Also remember that there is more gross profit in used cars but the market dictates the retail price. So if it's been sitting there for a whiile then you could get a better deal on it. OH yeah, if you can, start an e-mail deal online and then buy from the email salesperson. They are usually way easier to deal with than floor salespeople. Next bezt bet is deal striaght with the manager.

suchuwato Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 p8baller, shouldn't your avatar have an 'r' in it? yeah, most large dealers and some small offer finance packages on used cars, just make sure you don't get too stiched up... InvaderTrax Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 Carmax is actually a really good place to check out. Only thing I didn't like was the no-haggle price. I would have liked to save a few $$$, but oh well. It was still a good experience for me, and the truck still runs perfectly after 2 months (how long I've had it)
