Athlon 64 And Intel The Way Data Travels

Recommended Posts

Only thing that seems like it might confuse people is that the way the A64 goes down may make people think that it turns and stuff. I could see people thinking the turn means something. If you made this I would just make the A64 one shorter then the Intel one. And I wouldn't say the A64 takes shorcuts either its just a shorter path in general.

Actual thermal output between the northwoods and A64s is not all that different, slightly higher for the P4, but it's definatly not a big deal.

I think that over simplistic discription is misleading.

you're only focusing on ONE part...what about the other points. Most people don't really care about a few degrees of temp anyways, but the other stuff does make a difference.

You should have some sort of time scale thing on that graph. Maybe take off that extra part on the A64 after the turn.

the problem is that each process can take different amount of times. What number should he choose? Whatever he chooses, if the difference is too large, intel fanboys will whine, if it's too low, amd fanboys will.

Just pick a number that is smaller than the P4. Who cares if fanboys complain, its an ad, I assume. He is trying to sell to people other than geeks. As long as the number is smaller, people will know that the A64 is faster.

Also, fanboys will complain anyways because it doesn't say what model the P4 and A64 is.

AMDs core clock is faster than intels... i think thats explains the same thermal output

intel quad pumps there fsb (hence 800 mhz)

AMd double pumps there fsb (hence 400 mhz) on the 32bit.. i dunno the 64bit

i think red said that a while ago.. forgot the thread
