Flytarget Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 This is my system Antec true blue 480 watt PSU MSI K8N Neo Platinum AMD64 3200 PNY Geforce 6800 GT Corsair XMS 3200 1 GB Audiolgy Gamer Sound Card with Logitech 5.1 speakers Venus 12 cpu fan My question is I just clocked my cpu to 2.4 Ghz with 220 FSB. I can keep my cpu at stock voltage but I have to up my memory voltage to 2.8 volts to be prime stable. Is it ok to run this high of a voltage? Is it safe? How many others run with a memory voltage this high?
Nerm Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 I got my 3400+ to 2.64ghz stable without increasing anything so I don't really see why ya needed to up your vdimm with the memory you got, but it shouldn't hurt anything. Flytarget Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 When I would prime it I would choose the option that said test lots of RAM and it would fail. I figured it was because of my pc 3200 memory. I kept upping the vcore on my memory and so far it seems stable with the memory at 2.8 Ill try to up my multiplier later for a higher cpu speed. S][[email protected] Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 The corsair ram can definetly keep up with 220 FSB and i dont think you should get the mem voltage to any higher that stock for that ram but if it shows wierdnes at stock voltage and it doesnt at 2.8V then keep it like that, i think its safe.
