First Flasher

Recommended Posts

I am still getting coasters from DVD-rw. I have tried various media. My next move is to flash the BIOS. I have an Amptron P4-935ALU. Amptrons, instructions are to type" flash.exe biosfile.rom /a , where biosfile.rom, is the name of the bios. There is another command to back up the BIOS, but that didn't seem to work, perhaps, because I don't the know the original BIOS' name.

Also of note: I tried to use the Optorite utilitity which would flash the BIOS in Windows, but it would not work: says device not supported. I know it's the right one though.

I would like some thoughs on this matter, before I procede further....

NOTE: THIS SHOULD BE DONE BY ANYONE THAT BURNS DVD'S

use DVDRW's !!!! if you do get a bad burn - you can always erase the dvd!!! and if you get a GOOD burn then all you gadda do is just COPY DVDRW to DVDR ^_^ its a great trick but it does take a bit more time - but dvd coaster production will be at an all time LOW hehehe

The drive is an Optorite 0201 DVD +/- RW. It can burn +R, +RW, -R, and -RW. Yes, I have all tried different media, but that has not fixed the problem. The problem occurrs whether I burn w/ Nero, B's Gold or Windows (yes, I have trouble burning CD's at high speed too). Any suggestions???
