chardonnayii Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 WHat happens if you use a multipler of say 5 and fsb of 400?? is that better than 10 * 200??
DECwakeboarder Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 It would be better to run it like that because then all of your components would be working hard together, although I doubt that you will ever find stuff to run a 400mhz FSB
Iggy Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 Yes, that would be better because it would increase overall system performance. AFAIK the world record for an FSB was set on a P4 ES and was something like 380+ using a watercooled northbridge (not sure what board or mods). Theoretically it'd be possible if you did some insane cooling and volt mods to a high end P4 board. You'd probably have to custom mount a Vapo or Prommie on the nb though. BabyBalrog Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 very painfull, but then again if you are using a AMD64 sys with intigraded mem controller then the extra cooling will help you general OC as well.
