markiemrboo Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 lol genres are stupid I don't understand them either. One person might class it as heavy metal and the other might say no no no it's thrash metal.... or pop even I don't understand it, I just like what I like. Just did a google for 'disturbed genre' and I got http://www.delafont.com/music_acts/disturbed.htm ... at the bottom it says: Genre: Rock Styles: ..Rap-Metal ..Alternative Metal ..Heavy Metal So... I guess that's it. Not sure that there's much stuff very similar to Disturbed out there though.

GregP24 Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 If you like heavy music check out these bands: Metal: Twelve Tribes Demon Hunter Killswitch Engage Living Sacrifice Zao The Death Campaign Heavy Rock: Pillar Damage Plan MachineHead Metal is a hard genre to categorize. In GENERAL: Death metal - Slower more melodic and melancholy. Thrash - Fast, harsh sounding Heavy Metal - Think 80's hair bands Nu Metal - Linkyn Park Hardcore - Chaotic. Lots or rhythm changes in each song. Very fragmented feeling. Hard to catch the groove. My favorite genre is Death Metal. HomerJaySimpson Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 The most similar sounding band to Disturbed i've heard is probably the Deftones. But Disturbed kinda do their own thing, one thing bothers me about them though, all their stuff is very repetitive. Kinda gets old after a while

True, the albums sound different to each other, but all the songs on the album are very similar! Unless you play one from one album and one from the other, you get the picture. Unless you play one from one album and one from the other, you get the picture. Though I still disagree with you It's hard to be in a genre and not have your music sound the same... Tool, Deftones, Godsmack, System Of A Down sound more the same through each song and each album than Disturbed.
