Marine Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 well i recently started using lite step at litestep.net and it seems faster than using explorer.exe but when i use winamp aim and maxthon it lags a little bit. Friend of mine says it's made so you can run 1 app at good speeds but when you run more than one it's not very good so what do you guys think. Try it and let me know what you think. ClayMeow Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 i never tried it, nor do i really want to....especially if it's only good for running 1 ap at a time...who does that??? If you're browsing the OCC forums, you should have f@h running as well i guess maybe it would be good for f@h-only machines, though don't know if it would really increase the 99% cpu usage at all. Marine Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 well unfortunately i had to switch to exporer because when playing a game if i minimixe to desktop it will stop letting me right click whether in game after that or not. I liked it but i think i'll stay with explorer way to many problems for me to have time to fix, but eh it's there if i want to use it. Reidhardt Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 I've tried tons of alternate shells; but I went back to explorer. Alternate shells may use less RAM than explorer, but when it comes down to pure stability, explorer has them beat.
Byron Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 I used litestop for about a week, and it was hard to get used to, but when you did, it was simple, but it had too many problems with it, wasnt really a productive setup. So my computer died and i didnt install litestip when i reinstalled winxp
