exeter_acres Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 I once modded a Psu bu cutting a hole on the bottom (inside the case) and adding a fan..... it only had one fan acting as an exhaust......so adding a second fan helped exhaust hot air from the case and kept air flowing better through the PSU.... it was screwed on the outside. bottom of the PSU ( I had cut an 80mm hole in the PSU cover.....) MindDrive Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 you can "get" 350 so called watts from a 250 watt ps - IF you add up all the hardware (fans, drives, mobo, lights, ect) then you can "plug in" over 250 watts of useage - but each device isnt going to be getting its full power usage - large harddrive activity mixed with cdrom activity and whatnot might make the lights dim a little if you use more wattage than your power supply can put out -0 or worse off - it might reboot out of nowhere if you excede your ps's wattage - carefull this is like giving your puter a brown out which might dammage components
