jstew Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 I installed windows 98 second edition on an IBM thinkpad that I believe was running 98 first edition. and media player does not have sound, when viewing video picture is very grainy, and when I stat it up it asks to insert disk labeled windows 98 second edition. After inserting windows disc abd clicking "ok" the same "insert disc labeled windows second edition" message cames righ back. And when I'm online the back ground colors are very blocky and grainy just like media player. any suggestions very appriciated. thanks Jstew
Byron Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 Have you checked hte video settings. Right click desktop, properties, then the last tab, and check the settings in there. You might also need to install drivers for its vid, or upgrade your motherboard drivers.
Eva_Unit_0 Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 Sounds like you simply need to update all the device drivers, and make sure you aren't set to the default 640 x 480 16-color mode that Win98 used.
