CmpFreak88 Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 There is no such thing as a Pro AIW card, but the AIW cards are clocked to Pro speeds... or at least my 9700 AIW is. I have actually never heard about losing performance because of it being an AIW card... just because you lose space? I guess I'll Google it. I'd say go with the 6800GT. Sainou-Kun Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 I had a 9800 pro AIW , It preformaed the exact same as the 9800 pro Show me the bench marks. Yeah Looks like Im going with The Gt. Thanks everyone, Does know a Good tuner card for under 60 bucks?
MindDrive Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 Does know a Good tuner card for under 60 bucks? the ATI TV Wonder VE pci card is roughly 40 bucks USD along with the Pinnacle TV tuner card - both are under 50 bucks - though the pinnacles software unsyncs - but if u use power cinema with it then it works great on both cards Show me the bench marks. Maximum PC went through a whole mess of cards that they were going to put in the dream machine and they were going to choose the ATI 9700PRO AIW card but decided not to because of the lowered performance - the cards lowered performance is not just "lack of space" but the added tuner circuitry takes up space that is taken away from the raw cards circuitry - thus not as much can be used for JUST graphix power...... do some searching on the benchmark scores - youll find em and see what im talking about eventually

asus Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 dont get ANY All in wonder cards - ever - you suffer performance - your best bet would be to get the card that you want THEN get a PCI TV tuner card !!!! by getting a graphix card with the tuner onboard you are sacrificing area on the pc board of the graphix thus shaving performance - dont beleive me - do some research anywhere you want - all in wonder cards are just htat - "wonder if they work better cards" - its for people that are looking for simplistic setup if you want the same exact "all in wonder perfromance" that ATI has but dont want to sacrifice performance - get the ATI's TV Wonder VE pci card - that way they are still compatable with eachother flawlessly - or else get something like Pinacles tv card - youll thank me later - keep your receipts - find out for yourself which is better - the all on one card or 2 separate cards i agree and disagree.. first.. you dont realy loose any profromance with a tv card.. just think..you pay alot more, and the card is bigger.. dont wory. .you dont loos proformance... i would get that nvidia card and get a secondary TV card.. i suggest the ATI sc or ce TV card.. its like 40 bucks or so.. its a great tv card.. looks better then my tv ..
