I recently put up my first website, and had mixed experience with ftp clients. I started with CuteFTP, (trial), downloaded SmartFTP (free). It took both to get the site up, Cute was OK on small files but spun it's wheels on the big one (3+ mb). SmartFTP uploaded the big file, but with "My Documents" in the local pane, the small folders weren't visible. So I uploaded the index page with Cute, and the rest with Smart.

I then, just to check it out, downloaded FTPCommander (free), which promptly froze my comp. Couldn't even raise Task Manager or restart, had to unplug. Needless to say I uninstalled it. I then downloaded CoreFTP (free), and so far I like it a lot. I don't think I'll buy CuteFTP when the trial ends.

What about you guys?

i have used filezilla for a while now. i like the fact that it can keep the last few user names and passwords. so i don't have to always type in my ftp server for my web site. also like the ease of use with the filezilla server which i have used in my house.

I think I'll be going with CoreFTP, it combines all of the features I like in the others, and it's free. It also has a site manager that remembers multiple sites and passwords.

Any of you guys using "other" care to elaborate why you like the one you use?

I'm still not married to a particular client and would like to make the best possible choice.
