Bane Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 Ok, i just bought a stick of CMX512-3200C2PT for my computer. I bought one of these sticks 2 years ago, and i dedided that to buy a matched stick would help if i decided to go dual channel in the future. The memory sticker on the outside states as follows: CMX512-3200C2PT XMS3202v3.1 now the old memory stick says: CMX512-3200C2Pt XMS3202v1.1 Will the two versions of the memory have a conflict in the future when i go dual channel? neb1211 Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 There shouldn't be any major problems that I know of. You might not reach the full potential of Dual Channel memory but other than that it should work without problems. I have used different brands of ram in a dual channel configuration without any problems (because I was impatient and didn't have matching ram sticks)
