Whitelightning Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 As long as you connected the right 2 pins it shouldn't be a problem...I have a few 2pin fans that run on a 3 pin connector.

maorWTF Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 (edited) the third pin is usually for RPM reading, isnt it ? Edited August 17, 2004 by maorWTF
DieNasty Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 (edited) I'm . scared i messed up when applying the thermal compound on the gpu, cuz i can only oc to 433 ghz on the core using atitool, and the temperature gets to 71 C?F? when it tests for artifacts, everywhere i looked at everyone has a load temp of about 65... Help... what are typical OC's using avga silencer? Edited August 18, 2004 by DieNasty
jammin Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 433 is just fine i would say.. thats about the same I can get mine up to. And as long as it doesn't artifact, I wouldn't worry too much about the temp either.. what are you using to measure it anyway? DieNasty Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 i'm using atitool to measure temps...
cybergrunt69 Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 The 3rd pin is just for RPM reading. Shouldn't be an issue. If you wanted to spend actual cash on it, you could have bought a converter for it. But then again, if it ain't broke too bad, don't fix it, right? hardnrg Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 the 9800pro doesn't have built in temperature sensors... but the xt does so er... you got an xt or you got a thermal probe on it?
DieNasty Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 yep atitool monitors temperature... I got a sapphire 9800 pro with and r360 core... so i flashed it to a 9800xt, so now i can read temps... i just need to d/l a control panel to use overdrive...
