OLD topic:

we measure fan's noise at DB, right ?

25sb, 35db, and 55 is very loud

but in my stereo, there is -44db, - 40db, and -10db is very loud

and in the both cases this is DB, nothing else...

is this possible ?

yep, it's called amplification attenuation... 0dB is the loudest the amp will do... if it's a 15W amp then it'll be fairly loud, and if it's like 1kW then it'll be going towards a club set-up...

the biggest attenuation is -oo (infinity symbol), which would be all the way to the left, and should be silent...
