cybergrunt69 Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 (edited) From windows explorer (not IE) can you open web pages from the address bar? Yes, it will change it's look from explorer to IE, but it could happen. Can you view sites locally with IE without these issues? If so, try putting an html file on the desktop of that PC, putting a url to connect outside the lan. Have you tried upgrading IE to the latest version? There's a number of things that IE updates/changes in the OS, and applying the latest fixes may overwrite anything that was causing the issues. Have you tried using another browser? Firefox, Mozilla, Opera, etc. This is similiar to what Kevin is saying - is this issue with the whole PC, or just IE? Alot of times, adware will put extensions into IE which try to hijack your session - try running AdAware AND SpyBot to see if it finds anything... If you put a "?" then a space (%20) at the beginning of the address line, it activates a search feature, and your IE default search engine may be getting lots of traffic from that machine. If you're still having issues, maybe you can put some more specifics on the machine that's having issues (and compare to some that are working right). Good luck!
