I heard this board is good at OCing 64bit Athlons:

http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc....-130-457&depa=1

And my chip of choice as well..think its the same as yours:

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-103-413&depa=0

The reason I showed you the chip is that the 64 Athlons are now being produced with 512K L2 Cache like this one here:

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-103-487&depa=1

only about 20 bucks difference, but i would go with the 1mb L2 cache. You should

make sure your chip has 1MB if that is your preference.

Here is your board:

http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc....-128-203&depa=0

The two combined is like 10 bucks more than the site you used and you know for sure you get the 1MB chip. You could also call bzboys.com and check.

the top two items I told you about where the ones I was gonna get, but my money fell through. Anywho, when I was asking around, I was told by many that that MSI board was great for OCing. And the top link was the link for the MSI Board Nerm said.AMD 64s don't go on a nforce 2 board, the MSi one is a Nforce 3 board.

also, what is an AXP supporting chipset? what is AXP?

WOW. I am really confused right now. I have been reading ALOT on the A64. My confusion comes with the OS. I read the AMD64 cpu questions thing in the processors forum and got really confused. If i buy the above mentioned AMD Athlon64 3200+ clawhammer will Windows XP Pro run or not. I really wasn't in the market to buy a new OS with a new processor, but I like all the reviews and forum topics I have read on the A64, so I would like to get that, but if I am going to have to buy a new OS I just might change my mind.

Oh ya, you will be able to run pretty much everything. But, when Windows XP 64bit edition comes out, your computer will be like new again because the 64bit process will come into use instead of limiting itself to 32bit. You also get a nice performnace gain, not much, but a nice one in 32bit mode as well. If it were me, go with the MSI board and the 64Bit Proc.

Also, Fanatic, I asked around a couple months ago, I was told MSI OC'd very well, among the best fo rhte 64 chip. Now, if anythign came otu since then, then my bad, but I heard MSI is good. My dad has a msi mobo on his amd 1700 xp and it OCs nicely.
