DBZ Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 Hi guys, I need help on getting a mobo that is gonna get the most power out of that mobile 2600. I don't want to spend much more than 100 bux on the mobo cause I have to budget for other stuff too.
bigred Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 as you'll see from using the search feature here on the site the board of choice for the mobiles (and most xp chips) is the dfi lanparty B / infinity. abit gets some votes, however I don't trust an abit board even 1/2 as far as I can chuck it. Whitelightning Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 Yeah bigred is right, go with DFI....They are basicly the same board but the lanparty has a few more bells and whisltes, I got the infinity, better bang for the buck
DBZ Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 are you guys comparing this http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-136-138&depa=0 to http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-127-184&depa=0 ?
bigred Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 if the price tag is scaring you away from the lan party board try this one instead.
DBZ Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 Well I don't mind spending the extra money for the DFI board if its way way worth it. But What I'm really looking for is how easy it is or rather effortless it is to oc. Couldn't care less if stuff have bell and whistle if I'm never gonna use it. bigred Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 both boards are easy to overclock. however the voltage tweaks of the dfi make it MUCH more powerful... to the point of easily being dangerous if you don't take it slow and use common sense. Iggy Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 Some of the voltage options on the board are high enough to kill it in its stock form. Still, it's a great motherboard.
Agallion Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 I like my abit...just it undervolts like mad, im talking almost .1 on a regular basis lol
evanin Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 my abit undervolts a lot sometimes, but it hasn't failed yet! *knock on wood* I would say go with the DFI
Some_Guy_ Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 DFI DFI DFI... I have 2 of these now (I RMA'ed the crappy MSI I bought for my wife and replaced it with what I should have got her in the first place ) running 1700+ JIUHBs. It's a rock stable board, with lots of options to control pretty much anything you want. You can overvolt like crazy.
DBZ Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 I still don't understand the LanParty thing, been searching for info on it too. If I don't care bout it would I be better off getting this http://www.overclockersclub.com/link/?http...-136-137&depa=0 instead?
