OptikaliLLusion Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Alright, the PSU works.
markiemrboo Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Have you tried unplugging everything and just leaving the cpu/ram/graphics card in? and of course the cpu fan.. Â if so then i'd say it's the motherboard
Dignan Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Pins 4 and 6 from the left.... on the top row.... looking at it with the connector clip facing up. Â There is no way I have found to shock yourself. I you do touch the wrong wires while sticking them in, the PSU won't turn on, so unless you try to stick like 10 paperclips in at once your fine. Â Â EDIT- Crapit I should type faster
hardnrg Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 nm... Â ok so you know the psu works!
OptikaliLLusion Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Tried that, and............ it didn't start up. i'll try the battery thing... but first i need to know how to get the battery off. Â EDIT: I'm at Geek status now ^_^
hardnrg Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 when you cleared the cmos, did you put the jumper back? is there a jumper for it?
markiemrboo Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 (edited) I can't imagine the battery doing anything if you've tried a bare minimum configuration with nothing plugged into the psu but the cpu fan, unless that's on the motherboard 3 pin header.. then you'd have nothing on the psu. Â All I can say is check there's no loose screws flying around in the case that's making the motherboard short somewhere, but even if there is I would think your motherboard would be screwed after. New motherboard time? Â EDIT: No more happy bunnies. Look out for flaming red evil ones leaping about trying to stick their overly large horns in your eyes Edited July 28, 2004 by markiemrboo

Nemo Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Try it with no RAM and see if you even get a beep code. Try it with RAM only Then add the graphics card
