Theodore Posted July 11, 2004 Posted July 11, 2004 (edited) Greetings and hello! Im looking for a good and cheap graphics card. Looking to spend no more than 150. At first i was looking at the Radeon 9600XT, but now im leaning more towards the cheaper GeForce FX 5800. So, whats the best graphics card for under 150 with the best performance:cost ratio? Thanks! DarkScorpion Posted July 11, 2004 Posted July 11, 2004 just save up for a 9800pro, it right NOW has the best price:performance ratio. but, if you MUST get a card NOW, get a refurbed 9700pro from newegg.com, its about 140 and puts the 9600XT to shame

Just save the extra $50 up and get a 9800 Pro. You'll thank us later.
tsamb. Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 Well, actually you would probably only have to save up 20 - 30 bucks and then in a month or two, the 9800 Pro will have dropped that much. With X800s and 6800s becoming less rare, the prices on old generation GPUs is going to drop also. My advice: hang in there and watch the 9800 Pro drop in price and once it has, pounce. -tsamb. shervin2 Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 If your an nVidia fan and dont got enuf money for a 9800 Pro, get a 5900XT, but if you got enuf money rest assured you should get a 9800 pro.
