Agallion Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 save for 9800 pro
r_target Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 The ABit's are cool, but I would get this Sapphire Radeon 9800Pro for $199. Much better card. My last card was a 9600xt and there is a big difference.Oh, and before everybody starts askin', it has the 256bit memory interface. GregP24 Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 Yeah, not worth it for $180. Especially when the 9800Pro can be had for $199.
InvaderTrax Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 Yeah. A few months ago, the 9600XT was a big favorite for price/performance, but now that the 9800 Pro has come down in price, the 9600XT isn't worth the money anymore
spectrascope Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 My 9600xt 256mb was $40usd less than a sapphire card and $90 less than true 9800pro ya 256mb and r360 core and on my budget forty is a lot for the price your paying though you could get this card http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-131-232&depa=0 680ram
lesterruckfort Posted July 11, 2004 Posted July 11, 2004 i know that the price is close but the 9600xt has 256 MB of ram and all of the 9800 pros that are 199 only have 128MB will that make a difference in any way?
InvaderTrax Posted July 11, 2004 Posted July 11, 2004 The extra RAM will actually make it slower (lowered clocks). Games aren't optimized to use that extra 128MB, so it's pretty useless
