snipermav Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 I was looking around on Newegg, and I found out that a gig of Corsair XMS PC-3700 costs the exact same as a gig of OCZ Performance series PC-4200. Any advice?
Mangar Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 Check the timings on both, I have the OCZ PC4200 and the timings are crap but it does the speeds they claim.
snipermav Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 (edited) Well, the timings for both are 3-4-4-8. Also, I'm not really willing to pay over $300 for a gig of RAM... Edited July 6, 2004 by snipermav
Vincentp77 Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 I have the OCZ pc4200 and it has a Cl of 2.5 4 4 8 so it is good if running 1:
DarkScorpion Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 Take the 4200 If you think you're going to need that much bandwidth, if not, get the 3700 so you can have the possibility of tightening the timings a bit more.
snipermav Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 (edited) Well, I'm getting a 3.0C pretty soon, it's actually an SL6WK, and I was hoping to hit 250 on the FSB. It's also a 30 cap. Edited July 6, 2004 by snipermav

Be sure to let us know how you do with that. My 12cap 3.0c is stuck at 3.7 right now, with the OCZ. I'm planning on trying my Mushkin BH5 PC3500 set @ 5:4 to see if I can get farther soon.
