airman Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 (edited) How would i Find out who My ISP is and how to contact them.Ya i just did A bandwith test and it says im at 107.9K/s that really sucks balls for being cable thats not even twice 56K. a 107.9K/S is way more than twice the speed of a 56kpbs. 1kbps is 8 times more than 1K/s. soo...a 56k line at the MOST can be 7K/s. the 107.9K/S is the same as 863.2kbps. 863.2kpbs is about 15 times more that 56Kbps. what service are you paying for? you could have something like a 768k line and just got a little lucky. sykocus Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 find out what speed you are paying for, then compare that to your bandwith test. if you want to try and tweak your connection run this: http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks afterwards it'll have suggestions on some windows settings to change and also show you a utility that'll help change them. you can also read that to explain what the different settings do http://www.broadbandreports.com/faq/tweaks

ShadowPaktu Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 2 words: Contention Ratio. What is it and remember, technically, if you have half mg BB, and its 50:1, then you will get little faster the dial up :/
