Why Does Nforce Onboard Sound Suck?

When I was using my KT400 board, I always used the onboard sound. It sounded fine and I always wondered why people bought sound cards. Now I know. With my new nForce board, the onboard sound is horrible. Bass is fuzzy, other sounds are shrill. Why would nVidia couple their good chipset with bad sound? I'm so close to buying a Soundblaster now (this is more of a rant. I'm not asking for suggestions on sound cards here)

The a7n8x-x has junk onboard sound... The MCP-T southbridge I believe has soundstorm which is the great onboard auidio. It's the cheap mobo SB that has the crappy sound.

It's a 2.1 CA setup. It sounded wonderful with the ADI onboard, but the nForce setup uses Realtek, which apparently sucks

*addition* It also has the same onboard sound as the A7N8X-E. Realtek ALC650

i've got a mobo that doesn't have the mcp-t sb with the soundstorm... but dunno what the sound's like on my onboard chip... never used it... had my sb card from my old rig so just used that from the beginning...

onboard sound will suck in one way or another... even the soundstorm...
