Nerm Posted July 5, 2004 Posted July 5, 2004 that is a nice guide. I only wish I had the talent and patience to write guides and tutorials.
Kamikaze_Badger Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 I usually don't have the patience and motivation to do it either, Nerm. Really, you need to sort of mentally abuse yourself. Tell yourself that you're weak if you're going to give up so soon, etc. (Not recommended if you have a reeeeal low self-esteem)
Nerm Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 self-esteem isn't an issue with me. I think time is my biggest issue(I don't have any).
Kamikaze_Badger Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 I know how you feel. Time generally dosn't come around for me often. I'm either talking to my girlfriend on MSN, working on my map(aim_pistolshootout, coming soon!), or playing CS/TFC/DoD. Life's full of stuff to do... Paulloxed Posted August 14, 2004 Posted August 14, 2004 Thanks for this great info. I've ran all the spy checkers and hijack this. Also Mcafee Virus scan. I'm still having a problem with my AOL dial connection. Something is still taking over when I dial up. Its one of those diallers but I can't get shot of it. Could you please have a look at the hijack log as I am not confident at what to remove. Or could you direct me to someone who could please. file attached
Kamikaze_Badger Posted August 14, 2004 Posted August 14, 2004 (edited) Have you tried using another browser? AOL isn't dubbed AOHELL for no reason . EDIT: C:\WINDOWS\system32\dla\tfswctrl.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\xxyy\ijckjimi.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [xxyy] C:\WINDOWS\System32\xxyy\ijckjimi.exe Google up them, and find out what they are. Nerm Posted August 14, 2004 Posted August 14, 2004 lol @ KB! But he is right there is lots of reasons why it's dubbed AOHELL. lol
Kamikaze_Badger Posted August 14, 2004 Posted August 14, 2004 Tfswtrl.exe is a CD thing, no security threat. Ijckjimi.exe didn't return anything on google, though. Try some more extensive searching.
ClayMeow Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 Just found this thread thanks to d3's article, and first off, nice post KB . I have always wanted to try AVG but didn't know if I could do so while running Norton's. I know that there are some viruscan programs that cannot run together, and i don't want to remove norton's completely. Does anyone use AVG and norton's together? If so, is there anything special i have to do? I run Norton's 2002.
Kamikaze_Badger Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 Well, the most you'll have to do is, run them one at a time?
Silverfox Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 ugh! norton! noooo! it'll never come off!! argh! hehe. just get the free avg verison and as KB said - turn one off and run the other. see which one you prefer NOT wrapping your system up, lol!
