SkullZ Posted June 27, 2004 Posted June 27, 2004 Get a new video card, make sure your motherboard supports 8x AGP. Get a 9800 pro, itll do alot for your system.. You can always overclock your Cpu a bit to get 2000+ or something (1.8ghz)
Paranoid Posted June 27, 2004 Posted June 27, 2004 For $350 you can get a 9800 Pro and an nforce2 motherboard so you can overclock that 1800+. That would probably be your best option.
kobalt Posted June 27, 2004 Posted June 27, 2004 Yep, video card
Silverfox Posted June 27, 2004 Posted June 27, 2004 how much money ya got to spend? ultimately, it'll determine what you can upgrade (on top of your soon-to-be-purchased 9800PRO)
jammin Posted June 27, 2004 Posted June 27, 2004 He said $350... just read the post (hehe). Thats plenty to get a 9800 pro and a decent nforce 2 motherboard.. you could even get a mobo and a slightly better processor within that budget I reckon (if you can get a 9800 for $200).. InvaderTrax Posted June 27, 2004 Posted June 27, 2004 Well, if he gets a new video card and an NF2 board, he'll need better RAM. I doubt he could take PC2100 past
jammin Posted June 27, 2004 Posted June 27, 2004 true.. maybe 512 of pc3200 and gfx and mobo then (may be difficult to get high performance memory on that budget though.)
Paranoid Posted June 27, 2004 Posted June 27, 2004 2 x 256MB PMI Turbo PC3200 Albatron KX18D Pro Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB 256-bit Total: $361 A few bucks more than $350, but it's worth it
FaNta84 Posted June 27, 2004 Posted June 27, 2004 theres a guy in the Buy Sell Trade forum that has some really good prices and suppossedly hes legit. If you have paypal you could get: Asus A7N8X Deluxe motherboards - $88 Radeon 9700 Pro 128 - $110 AMD 2500+ barton core- $50 That comes out to $248 so you could still have $100 to buy some good pc3200. This is all if you trust him and dont mind buying online.
Nerm Posted June 27, 2004 Posted June 27, 2004 I agree with what's already been said "new mobo, new ram, and new video card" and if you could get that budget a little higher I would suggest getting a better processor too.
