ag3nt911 Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 Just got it from work (I work at CompUSA lol) for about 10 bucks. Says 75 CFM @ 4800RPM and the noise dB @ 48 for 7500rpm. Lowest is 20CFM @ 1300RPM and at that speed, making 17 dB noise. I really didn't expect that one fan to be SO loud! It's driving me crazy. You guys think this is a good fan? I used it for the rear of my computer (next to the CPU) So my system now has a total of 5 fans and I'm able to put two more at the front. The rest are pretty quiet slow fans though. I bet each is pushing maybe 20ish CFM. is this ok? 35c system temp? It's pretty hot now I don't know why. My CPU idle is at 42c now. Last night it was at 38c. I'm sure today is just hot in my room causing my system to idle at higher temps. BTW its a 2.8c @ 3.2. water cooled. I'll try to post some pics up of my case tonight. ag3nt911 Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 haha you got me there. Just one fan @ 48dB and I'm already getting annoyed Alright well it's either "play hard or don't play"
airman Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 thats a total of 220 dba and 600 cfm if it was 220dB, you wouldn't be able to hear at this moment. it's not like it's combined...but then again, it could happen now that i think about it. using constructive interference, you might could actually achieve a decibel rating at 220dB! wow i feel smart
ag3nt911 Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 wonder how that would sound like.. My car's exhaust is like 90dB hahaha

Nemo Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 220dB- uh isn't the threshold of pain around 90-95dB?
shervin2 Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 Your heart would stop after 120dB.
hardnrg Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 no no nooooooo, the threshold of pain is 120dB which is about the same as a jackhammer... 150dB is a jet engine... you're heart wouldn't stop unless you were really feeble and were the kind of person who asks people to turn the music down feeble shervin... i've got the Tt you're talkin about... i think, is it orange and is it actually called a Smart Fan II? just use a fan controller... they still shift plenty of air at about 70% speed/noise wait, what the heck? why are you even using this if you've got a reserator? get some quiet 120mm fans instead and get rid of all those 80mm nasty fans
