What Frames In Folding

sorry if this in the wrong place I couldn't find the folding faq

what do frames do in folding and what compents are crictical speeding up there processing please list in respective order

when talking about folding, a frame is like a photo in a video clip... there are a certain amount of photos within a video clip that make up the animation of the video. When you have a work unit with 100 steps, each frame in that WU is a step/advance of a protien folding.

 

As for your second question, if I can understand it correctly, the best way to speed up your folding would be a faster processor, whether from OCing or from buying a new one. RAM helps, but CPU is most vital when folding AFAIK :foldon:
