Paranoid Posted June 10, 2004 Posted June 10, 2004 The difference is the process that it is made with. What CPU are you refering to?
KiLZo Posted June 10, 2004 Posted June 10, 2004 a CEL 1000 @ .13 micron or a CEL 1000 with .18 micron
Paranoid Posted June 10, 2004 Posted June 10, 2004 0.13 - 1000MHz, 256k L2, 100MHz FSB, 1.5v, Tualatin Core 0.18 - 1000MHz, 128k L2, 100MHz FSB, 1.75v, Coppermine Core Both are Socket 370. Tualatin's may not work on older Socket 370 boards which were designed for Coppermine CPU's. Coppermine's should work on every Socket 370 board. KiLZo Posted June 10, 2004 Posted June 10, 2004 Thanks para that helped me alot.... will chec out what the board i have will do with dual cpu! thanks man
InvaderTrax Posted June 10, 2004 Posted June 10, 2004 If your board supports it, get the Tualatin core
bigred Posted June 10, 2004 Posted June 10, 2004 no, coppermines work in all socket 370 FCPGA compatible sockets. the original socket 370 boards only worked with the PPGA celerons. while the tulatin was FCPGA2 and worked in boards for it. copper mine worked in FCPGA2 socket, but the PPGA chips didn't. PPGA chips also worked in the FCPGA sockets just fine. NOW are we more confused than ever?
Some_Guy_ Posted June 10, 2004 Posted June 10, 2004 (edited) Aaaannnnnd, some companies made FC-PGA to FC-PGA2 convertors, to allow Tualatin core CPUs to function in Coppermine boards. Dual CPU? PPGA Celly's will do SMP with some modification, but I don't know if that trick works for coppermines or tualatins. Get the tualatin if at all possible.
