Yes their Itaniums do suck, however Intel is not out of the water yet...

64bit technology is not in everyday use just yet. 64bit apps and games are not abundent...

On a 32bit level, this processor is no better or worse than an Intel....., so why pay so much for a CPU that isn't being used to its full potential?

And plan on Yamhill coming out by the end of this year (which will probably be delayed to the early part of 05) to beat out its counterpart....

For the most part, the General Consumer has no idea what 64bit tech is just yet... Its like leeping from Windows 3.11 to Win95, it is a big step, and a long route at that.

Asus A8V Deluxe K8T890 is available for pre-order on certain websites..

BTW why spend all the money on all this, when you can just build yourself an Opteron rig for cheaper... Just my two Cents..

its amazingly funny how similar the new amd's look like p4's and when i read about the comming of this new amd i bout spit pop out my nose when i heard they incorporated an Intel idea (hyperthreading=hypertransport) HA i say HA

up until recently ive always had the notion that AMD stood for "A.lmost M.ight D.o-it due to the fact that they were always nipping at Intel's heels and never really exceeding them..... mabee AMD should change their name to FDI - F.inally D.id I.t

what the heck r u on about? amd did not use an intel idea. Do you mean that because there have the same letters (HT) then they stole it from intel? ROFLMAO!!

They mean completely different things, as you just said, hyper threading, hyper transport. I beliveve one is to make a virtual cpu, and the other is a speedy link between memory and cpu! (kinda) So where in that did amd 'incorporate' intels idea?
