FunkyMonkey Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 the other thread says that it will perform like a 9500pro with just higher clock speeds
InvaderTrax Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 You mean refurb experiences with a 128MB card or the cheap 128 bit memory cards? If you're talking about newegg refurbs, I love my new 9700 Pro. Took it out of the anti static wrap (refurbs are bare bones and don't even have a driver CD) and plugged it an and it just went. No problems
Coolzero101 Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 (edited) EDIT: Thought it said 9000 Edited June 6, 2004 by Coolzero101
allthatisman Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 I bought a "new"9800 pro. I ran it for...hmm a little over a year now. I accidently pulled the heatsink off it, dropped it when i moved it to a new tower and overclocked the crap out of it. Basically I treated it like crap. It still worked for over a year, then my screen turned green untill i bought a new card. I think with some TLC it would have lasted me a lot longer. If all you're looking for is 128mb. then I say get it.
General Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 I will get one of these on wed i belive. I dont care if its not as good as a 256 mb bersion. its sure as hell better than a r9000
InvaderTrax Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 So you're getting the 256 bit, 128MB card? I'm still confused
General Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 sorry. i was talking about the 128mb cards. not the 128 bit  You know, the newer dubbed down version of the 9800 pro
DarkScorpion Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 Um, just about all 9800pros have 128MB of on-board RAM. The dumbed down version has a 128-bit memory interace and the regular has a 256-bit interface.
General Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 ooh. ok. thats what i wasnt getting.. anyway.. u guys think i should go for it?
DarkScorpion Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 The 128-Bit, no, get a 9500Pro unless you really got extra money to spend. The 128MB 9800Pro, knock yourself out, its the best bang for buck card Plus, refurbed will lower the price alot more (make sure to get saphire, they actuallly CHECK the cards before sending them back out)
