RadioActivated Posted June 4, 2004 Posted June 4, 2004 It's a great game..! Painkiller is appreciate mainly because of it's graphics and physics of the enemies i think. But the secondary reason it's apreciated, MUST be the music it's got. I was playin' the game and all of a sudden this rock music comes on..! Man it boosts the level of adrenaline in you're body when it goes on.

ClayMeow Posted June 4, 2004 Posted June 4, 2004 there was an article in CGM about how the game used some anti-piracy protection that scans your computer and crash the game back to the desktop if you have (or ever had) any software it deems immoral/illegal. Anyone experience problems? I dunno if there's a list of what programs it doesn't like....it didn't say in the article...but it was an interesting read. Waco Posted June 4, 2004 Posted June 4, 2004 ^ If that were true...my computer would have ceased to exist as soon as I loaded Painkiller the first time.

r_target Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 That Safedisc blacklisting thing sucks.I had problems with that and BF42 last fall.Daemon tools can fool it though,if you're using a legal copy of the game, which I am.
AxelF Posted June 9, 2004 Posted June 9, 2004 I don't know for sure but I would assume that most of that would be up to the programmers of the game to execute. Particularly when it comes to game loops and jamming guns and such. Most developers of games should not want their games to be full of deliberate bugs like that, sales would be hurt by that rumor. Further it would be possible to get your money back if a game do not work just because you have software that CAN be used for copying games. Such tools can be used for legal reasons too, so you must be able to use both or get your money back. But that creates more hassle for buyers than for those who steal. There's always another game to steal so... they won't use this for long if at all.
