upok Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 sorry if this is a newbie question, but here goes. i have just started researching some water cooling options. after searching around in here, i ended up at danger den. they linked me to some reviews of their products(at viperlair, and another one i don't remember). both reviews mentioned some difficulties getting the water blocks to fit around the transistors on the mobos. just so happens, both reviews were dealing with dfi lan party nfII ultra b boards. as my sig says, that's what i'm using. so my question is this, does anyone know where i may find out what blocks will fit my board? i'm gonna have to order all of the stuff online as none of my local comp shops have squat for water cooling. so, i really don't want to order a bunch of stuff just to find out it doesn't fit. any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks
airman Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 hmm...you might have a problem. i wouldn't recommend this, but what you can try doing, is kind of 'bending' the transistors out of the way, kind of lay them vertical. i have no doubt the DD RBX block would fit your motherboard...is that what you were looking at? my really only suggestion is to find someone else with water cooling your motherboard. k1e1v1i1n Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 i dont really know ur mobo but i can say installing my waterblock was easy and i didnt have to move or bend anything. i have a diff mobo and water system then ur looking at but i dont think they would make it that hard to install i was worryed b4 i got mine home too but it all worked out great good luck
exeter_acres Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 The transisitors are the little guys on the board, there are several that are too close to the mounting holes... what I did is cut the rubber washer out a little but so it fit around the resistors.. Also, don't tighten the screws too tight or you can break them... Or you can use the DD block with the hold down kit....
