Inu_Yasha Posted September 7, 2002 Posted September 7, 2002 well.. here's my two cents. I've got a sony surroundsound 5.1 for my gaming and home theater and I got a Hercules Game Theatre XP and it RULES!!!! The only thing i have against the audigy platinum is that the coax and optical cables are in the front. I use coax for my comp audio so... it would be a hassle for me. If you're going to use regular comp speakers then go with an audigy. I listened to my friend play cs on his comp with 5.1 speakers (can't rember which brand) and they sounded good. But if you're really into movies and gaming, I'd go for a home theatre setup with a hercules card. I spent $400 for my surround sound about 2yrs ago when dolby digital was hard to find. xpandapuss Posted September 13, 2002 Posted September 13, 2002 That's nice zep......... Altec Lancing all the way!!!!! They play very nice and the sub kicks surprizingly hard for it's size. I love 50Hz and below and the Altecs get down there.....worth it.......
xj4wheeler Posted September 13, 2002 Posted September 13, 2002 I am running the Logitech z560 4.1 surround system and a Sound Blaster Live 5.1 card. It sounds pretty crap good IMO. I am mainly listening to music and mpeg's. Will rock the house and make the neighbors mad. 400 total watts, also a good price $136 for set @ newegg.com.
