spectrascope Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 Hey all Just finished shooting a Dead or almost dead ecs k7s5a 3.1 mobo with my paintball gun, dude I hated this board because to flash bio you had to be in windows and in order to install windows you had to flash the bio vicous cycle so I destroyed with my paintball gun it was funny the northbridge chip fell off after about the 3rd paintball from 50ft I know thats not far but I was mad

hardnrg Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 loads of new boards can be updated in windows... even automatically downloading and updating the bios in the background if you like!!! Â my msi does and i know some of the tasty dfi boards do too... BUT i haven't heard of a board that CAN'T be updated from a DOS bootdisk
Mangar Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 You guy's prolly won't believe this, but when I was younger, I used to do the same technique on my old "8-track" tape players from my car.
spectrascope Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 well to put better the board had blown bios chip because it could not detect bios chip this is my guess besides 14 bio updates is 10 to many for me by the way it was version 3.1 not 3.1b I thnk that is why kulaminati had better experince than i did plus the bios kulaminati was using probaly wasn't blown you know it was pullin the whole cannot decet winond chip deal
