Win2000 Install Sata Problems

Recommended Posts

im building a computer for a friend, and they have two 160gb SATA drives, and i keep on getting an error on a win2000 install. it has a gigabyte 7nnxp mobo with a Sil3112 controller. it detects the drives on boot, but fails on the windows install. not sure what to do..

error was approximatly:

file txtsetup.oem cause an unexpected error (512) at line 1041 in D:\nt\..\oemdisk.c

 thanks

yes, it is right after that where i get the error message

Try some diff't SATA drivers when you hit F6...

Are you sure it is a Sata problem? Maybe the disk (CD) is scratched?
