Northbrige Chipset Cooler

ok, currently my abit ic7-g has a almunimum flower chipset cooler and i want to replce it with a better one for less than $15

 

is the alminum flower chip set cooler sufficient?

 

anyone have any suggestions?

that is what i thought, i was just not sure if it was sufficient enough

 

thanks , i will just keep the one it has :)

 

i even lapped it and put as3 and cleaned off the crap it originally had

I wouldnt bother replacing it with anything except the MCX-159. It's an awesome

little sink. Not many others are as good as the stock imo.

 

I've got the same mobo and didn't bother. The p4p800, however, needed better cooling than it came with.

I wouldnt replace the NB cooler. I was thinking of doing the same thing as that hsf seems a little useless, but if it aint broke, dont break it. Thats what i've been hearing anyway, apparently there's a lot of trouble with the clips and they pop off. I dont wanna RMA, so mines staying put :P

little? for a nb cooler its huge.

At least it's better than the chunk of aluminium on the ASUS boards. :bah:

I agree with that on my asus boards they were pretty warm, this was when I got my first asus P4C800 Deluxe so I added a fan on it it ran cool then, but I went ahead and went to water cooling on it, I needed all the cooling I could get to get up to 4ghz
