Rick_fourdumbkids Posted April 30, 2004 Posted April 30, 2004 yeah i'm 17 an i got grounded the other day for coming in half an hour late lol maybe it's just something they have to do to make sure they still have control over you did she use the "you live in my house therefore you abide by my rules" cos my mum says that all the time

sykocus Posted April 30, 2004 Posted April 30, 2004 all the more motivation to move out on your own.
Mangar Posted April 30, 2004 Posted April 30, 2004 all the more motivation to move out on your own. but realy, as a parent myself...I feel that it is just hard for a parent to admit their child has grown up, part of it is the "control" thing, but they just want to protect you. Although at that age they realize they are loosing control and are very woried about whether or not they raised you properly, and that you will make the right decissions when faced with lifes challenges. Best thing IMO to do is go with the flow... we usually give in sooner or later. If you show that you can accept the conditions take it like an adult, they they will realize that that have done well raising you. And always remember.... someday you will become them. D-r0cK Posted April 30, 2004 Posted April 30, 2004 Don't hate your parents for grounding you, there just doing what they think is best for you. Think of them as molding you to become a BETTER person as you become older. You'll all probably do the same when you become parents. I live alone with a buddy of mine, and 1 month and i miss my parents already. Oh and respect your parents for all you OCC's out there who are still young, cuz without them, you guys wouldnt exist huh. cheers:
