Dad just gave me an altumatum to shutdown my comps whan I'm not home or not using them. It has something to do with power consumption and heat. I hereby bequeaf that Tempesta should hold 80'th phace with honor and courage as I have.

So now my dual proc will only be one for about 3 hours instead of all the time.

Should get the initave I could wind a way to hide a fare in the crwal stace, though networking could be a problem.

I'm open to sigustions, people.

This Bites.

Or you could always just get quiet fans and pull the LEDS out so he'll never know it's on

Sneaky, but I like it. Why not convince him that you will take other measures to conserve energy elsewhere to make up for it.

Also there is a FAQ on the f@site wich includes aproximated numbers of how much folding costs in terms of electricity.

In California a 24/7 folding pc costs about $6 a week.

(I'm sure they didnt use a rig like mine, with 11 fans for that estimate)

compared to the $3 a normal use pc costs, folding only ads an extra $3

Show your dad that page.

does your dad know that it is harder on the comp's hardware psu, monitor, etc... to turn the comp on and off multiple times a day rather than just leaving it running all the time. also it takes more power and electricity to power one up than it does to run it for a couple of hours.
