sierra248 Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 Well I finally got my CPU today. I know you will all be pissed at me but I didn't get a 2.4c I went with the sl6z5 P4 2.8c to go along with what i have so far: 1. Antec P160-Built in 120MM Back of case fan and a 120x38mm Vantec 120MM Stealth Fan for Intake. 2. Asus p4c800-e and now a P2.8c (sl6z5) 3. Thermalright SP94 Copper Heatsink with a Vantec Tornado 92x38 Tornado Fan.(lapped to a shine) 4. Thermalright NB1 Chipset Heatsink with Stock Fan.(lapped to a shine) 5. Arctic Silver Thermal Compound. Well as you can see I am 2 sticks 0f 512mb Memory short. The reason being is its so crap EXPENSIVE for any BH-5 memory that is left and there is no new memory that compares to the Bh-5 that I know of. I am either just gonna purchase some cheap ddr 400 or wait untill i can afford some bh-5 stuff that is for sale on ebay for about 500 bucks for a 2x512 packs. Any suggestions are welcome, this beast will be up and running finally, I can't wait. Tom P.S. Allot of people told me to buy this RAM, which is a little less expensive and can do cas2. What do you think, they say these are Windond Bh-5 chips but I cannot find proof, any help will be greatly appreciated 512 sticks of KHX3200 non-a here $169 OR 2x512 sticks of KHX3200 non-a pack here $299 OR get 2x256 (plenty sufficient + better ocing) KHX3200 non-a here $190(This is supposed to be best for overclocking over the 2x512?????????? Thanks, Tom
AYoKoNA Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 Why get pc3200 at all? It might not o/c up to 250FSB (which is usually what you get on those 2.8c's) If your gonna O/c that puppy and don't want to get "expensive" Bh-5 chips I suggest getting some pc3700 or pc4000 either Kingston or some OCZ... Nuclear Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 I agree with him ^^. Your gonna have to vmod that board to get anything out of BH-5, and do the droop mod for the CPU. If you aren't willing to mod the board, go with some PC4000 or higher.
