kanbeki Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 Today on the east coast it was in the upper 80s and my case temp was averaging about 90F idle today..this is concerning seeing as durring the winter I was 70F idle and 80F at most on load..should I lower my chip down or below its factory clock to ensure that it makes it through the warmer weather? Ziggy54354 Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 i wouldnt lower it below the normal spec. why would a company make a processor that wouldnt last in summer? thatd be dumb. Just lower your oc. I lowered mine by about 100mhz

guinness Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 why bother, just crank the a/c or open a window. sure it may go up a degree or two, but its not that big of a deal. another idea is taking off case panels and using a box fan or any other kind of large fan. Iggy Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 Nah, 90f idle isn't bad, as long as your load temps stay under 120-125f. Just for the record, you might want to convert those values to celcius, seeing that most people measure their temps in that scale.
